Softball Game Preview: Ponder Lions vs. Callisburg Wildcats

Ponder is 9-1 against Callisburg since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ponder Lions face off against Callisburg Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Neither Ponder nor Callisburg posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Friday, Ponder came up short against Boyd and fell 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Callisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 15-0 to Boyd.

Ponder's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Callisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything went Ponder's way against Callisburg in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Ponder made off with a 16-0 win. Does Ponder have another victory up their sleeve, or will Callisburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
