Baseball Recap: Cherokee Braves vs. Swain County Maroon Devils
Cherokee extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Swain County Maroon Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maroon Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 on Friday.
As for Swain County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.
For Swain County's part, the team relied heavily on Grady Lewis, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Will Holden, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Coincidentally, Cherokee and Swain County will both be playing Robbinsville the next time they take the field. The Maroon Devils will head out to face the Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Braves will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
