Basketball Recap: Friends Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Friends Academy can now relate to. They fell 58-51 to the Valley Stream North Spartans on Thursday. It was the first time this season that the Quakers let down their fans at home.

Despite the defeat, Friends Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eyan Valadez posted 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Valadez has been hot, having posted 19 or more points the last five times he's played. Jaxon Saulter was another key player, putting up ten points.

Friends Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Valley Stream North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.

As of now, neither Friends Academy nor Valley Stream North have any future games scheduled.
