Football Game Preview: Choctaw Yellowjackets vs. Piedmont Wildcats

Choctaw is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will welcome the Piedmont Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Choctaw is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Bixby, who was ranked first at the time (Choctaw was ranked 12th). The Yellowjackets were outmatched by the Spartans and fell 57-7. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Piedmont was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against Norman, falling 37-7. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Piedmont fell to 2-1. As for Choctaw, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Choctaw strolled past Piedmont in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 56-40. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
