Softball Recap: Valley Christian Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Valley Christian put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let the Florence Gophers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Leigha Kremlacek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kremlacek was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lo Sloan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Taya Clausen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only posted an OBP of .250.

Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Coming up, Valley Christian will be playing at home against Page at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sand Devils have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
