Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Shadow Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Tolleson Wolverines on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Stallions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Shadow Ridge not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Tolleson between 15 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 25-18.

Shadow Ridge found their leader in sophomore Samantha Montoya, who had 14 assists and nine digs. Those 14 assists set a new season-high mark for Montoya. Kaitlyn Rain also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Shadow Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Tolleson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Shadow Ridge has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Apollo on the 25th. As for Tolleson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Valley Vista on the 25th.
