Basketball Recap: Jesuit Skates Past Cypress Creek with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Jesuit on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Cypress Creek Coyotes out of the water with a 77-35 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 41-point advantage.

Jesuit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mike McLendon led the charge by putting up 11 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave McLendon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Junior Arroyo, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Jesuit was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek only racked up nine.

Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Jarvis, who posted seven points.

Jesuit pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-46 victory against Southeast on the 22nd. As for Cypress Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 79-58 defeat against Seminole on the 24th.
