Baseball Recap: Bishop Moore Has No Trouble Against Oviedo

Bishop Moore won the last time they faced Oviedo and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hornets blew past the Lions 12-6. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Jason Forgey looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Garcia, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

Bishop Moore lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Bishop Moore and bumps their season record up to 16-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Oviedo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Bishop Moore will venture away from home to square off against Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oviedo, they will welcome Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
