Baseball Recap: Carroll Academy Takes a Loss

Carroll Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Manchester Academy Mavericks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rebels have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Hayden Hopkins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reid Blaylock, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5.

Carroll Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Manchester Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Carroll Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Winston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st. As for Manchester Academy, they will take on Kirk Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Manchester Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
