Preview: Sands Mustangs vs. Westbrook Wildcats
The Sands Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Westbrook Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Sands unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Sweetwater by a score of 41-38.
Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last game, Westbrook made sure to put some points up on the board against Colorado on Monday. Westbrook enjoyed a cozy 62-47 victory over Colorado. Given Westbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while Colorado is ranked 1109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sands now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Westbrook, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6.
Sands was able to grind out a solid win over Westbrook when the teams last played back in December of 2018, winning 52-39. Will Sands repeat their success, or does Westbrook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
