Volleyball Recap: Stuart Falls to Burwell

Stuart had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Burwell Longhorns.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23.

Stuart lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyra Tubbs, who had eight digs and three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katelynn Simon, who had 14 digs and 12 kills. The team also got some help from Lainee Pelster, who had three digs and two aces.

Burwell has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Stuart wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Twin Loup on the 27th. As for Burwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Elgin/Pope John on the 1st.
