Basketball Recap: Rutland Takes a Loss

If Rutland was feeling good fresh off their 77-44 takedown of Brattleboro last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rutland Raiders were dealt a 102-53 loss at the hands of the Burlington Seahorses on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Seahorses: they've now lost four in a row.

Rutland's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Burlington, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rutland will face off against Mt. Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burlington, they will square off against Rice Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
