Softball Recap: Tolar Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tolar and Peaster, and Peaster kept the tradition alive. Tolar fell 11-7 to Peaster on Monday. The Rattlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Lane Gardner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Senne Imel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Tolar has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. The victory (which was Peaster's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-8.

Tolar didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 win against Early on the 21st. As for Peaster, they have also already played their next matchup, a 23-3 victory against Millsap on the 19th.
