Softball Recap: Brookfield Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Brookfield Academy got themselves on the board against Catholic Central on Tuesday, but Catholic Central never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hilltoppers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Blue Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Makenna Best made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lila Mason, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leora Schmidt, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Brookfield Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Brookfield Academy will welcome Living Word Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Catholic Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Dominican at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
