Basketball Game Preview: Whiteland Warriors vs. Greenwood Woodmen

Whiteland and Greenwood are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Whiteland Warriors will head out to take on the Greenwood Woodmen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Whiteland is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Columbus North on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Whiteland came up short against Columbus North, falling 60-36. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 24 points.

Meanwhile, Greenwood ended up a good deal behind Jennings County on Friday and lost 51-32. While losing is never fun, the Woodmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Panthers are ranked 57th).

This is the second loss in a row for Whiteland and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Whiteland couldn't quite finish off Greenwood in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 59-57. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Greenwood's Keyara Johnson, who went 6 of 12 en route to 19 points. Now that Whiteland knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
