Softball Recap: Cleveland Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Cleveland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pennington Tigers by a score of 14-10 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Cleveland let Bailey Marsh and Makenna Hayes run wild. Marsh went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Hayes scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave Marsh a new career-high in runs. Savana Delgado also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cleveland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pennington struck out eight times.

Cleveland pushed their record up to 8-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pennington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Cleveland has already played their next contest (against Ashville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pennington, they will square off against Locust Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
