Basketball Recap: Carlisle Comes Up Short

Carlisle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-35 loss at the hands of the Magna Vista Warriors. The match marked the Chiefs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Magna Vista, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Carlisle and Magna Vista could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Carlisle (ranked 328th) will meet Blue Ridge (ranked second) at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Meanwhile, Magna Vista will take on Hargrave Military Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday down 251 places (332 vs. 81).
