Baseball Game Preview: Parkview Vikings vs. Ozark Tigers

Parkview hasn't had much luck against Ozark recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Parkview has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Parkview is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 17-0 to Camdenton. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Ozark came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against Willard.

Hudson Roberts was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Roberts was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gannon Miller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Ozark's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 5.75 runs across that stretch. As for Parkview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Parkview might still be hurting after the 16-6 defeat they got from Ozark in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
