Baseball Recap: Taft Find Success

Taft lost to Ogden International back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Eagles came out on top against Ogden International by a score of 9-5.

Joe Falkowski looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Israel Rodriguez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Taft is 7-3 when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Marr, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Taft now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Ogden International, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Taft will face off against rival Whitney Young at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Ogden International is set to take on their familiar foe Payton College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
