Basketball Recap: Balko/Forgan Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Balko/Forgan unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were beaten by the Seiling Wildcats 66-35. While losing is never fun, Balko/Forgan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Seiling is ranked tenth).

Despite the loss, Balko/Forgan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Halle Littau went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points and four steals. Littau has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenley Mulbery, who posted nine points.

Balko/Forgan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Seiling, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Balko/Forgan will take on Kremlin-Hillsdale in a tournament on Monday. Balko/Forgan is facing Kremlin-Hillsdale at the right time seeing as Kremlin-Hillsdale is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Seiling, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-35 win against Balko on the 11th.
