Softball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the Astronaut War Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 22-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Cocoa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kindle Gold, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Gold's first of the season.

Cocoa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Astronaut, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocoa will host Cocoa Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cocoa Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Astronaut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
