Soccer Game Preview: Palmetto Ridge vs. Gulf Coast

Palmetto Ridge is 2-8 against Gulf Coast since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Palmetto Ridge Bears will be playing at home against the Gulf Coast Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Palmetto Ridge came up short against Naples on Wednesday, falling 6-1.

Meanwhile, Gulf Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Venice. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Indians are ranked 117th).

Palmetto Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Gulf Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Palmetto Ridge skirted past Gulf Coast 2-1 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Does Palmetto Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gulf Coast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
