Football Game Preview: Boone Braves vs. DeLand Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Boone Braves will venture away from home to take on the DeLand Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boone's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so DeLand's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Boone is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Winter Park by a score of 24-12.

It was another big night for Aaron Hardy Jr, who rushed for 197 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 53 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Boone's defense and their five sacks. Adrian Foster refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Winter Park's side was Foster, who picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, DeLand put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Creekside to the tune of 70-21. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Boone better keep an eye on Marceles Carey. He was instrumental in DeLand's win, rushing for 164 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 58 receiving yards. Carey also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions which he returned for a touchdown. Taihj Moore was in the mix as well, providing DeLand with two touchdowns.

DeLand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

DeLand didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Carey led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Boone's record now sits at 10-1. As for DeLand, their record is now 11-0.
