It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tupelo can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (21-20), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Tupelo lost on Saturday, don't look at Jaeden Hill. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs. Hill's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards.

Even if they lost, Tupelo's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Jareylan McCoy refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Cooper Crosby was his usual excellent self, rushing for 166 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 45 receiving yards for Gulfport. Crosby was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Parker Nettles, who threw for 220 yards and one TD on only 19 passes.
