Volleyball Recap: Edgar's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Edgar unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Wausau West Warriors. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Makita Ellenbecker paced Edgar's offense, picking up seven kills. Ellenbecker got some help from Brandi Halverson and her seven assists. Ella Baumgartner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Wausau West to victory were Sophia Ngo and Ava Ngo. Sophia had six digs and four aces, while Ava had seven assists and six digs.

Edgar's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Wausau West, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7.

Edgar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Athens on the 13th. As for Wausau West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Merrill on the 13th.
