Preview: Sequoia Ravens vs. Carlmont Scots

The Sequoia Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Carlmont Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, things could have been worse for Sequoia, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to San Mateo.

Despite the loss, Sequoia had strong showings from Luke Rowell, who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Brody McKenna, who threw for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, even though Fremont scored an imposing 33 points on Friday, Carlmont still came out on top. Carlmont walked away with a 43-33 win over Fremont. The win was just what Carlmont needed coming off of a 48-28 loss in their prior match.

Braeden Kumer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 238 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Kumer hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Christian Booth was in the mix as well, providing Carlmont with two touchdowns.

San Mateo's victory bumped their season record to 5-4 while Sequoia's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.

Sequoia didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Carlmont when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 28-23 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Carlmont's John Hanna, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Sequoia to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
