Basketball Game Preview: Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades vs. Custer/Hysham

The Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face Custer/Hysham at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Reed Point/Rapelje was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Fromberg. The Renegades have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Reed Point/Rapelje saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marshall Ulmer dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Ulmer is now averaging an impressive 8.7 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Custer/Hysham didn't have quite enough to beat Roberts two weeks ago and fell 58-55. Custer/Hysham has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reed Point/Rapelje's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Custer/Hysham, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Reed Point/Rapelje came up short against Custer/Hysham in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 50-44. Can Reed Point/Rapelje avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
