Softball Recap: Meadville Eagles vs. Grundy County Panthers        
        
		
             Meadville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Grundy County Panthers  a   10-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than eight  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Julia Burton and  Lainee Myers did most of the damage at the plate:  Burton  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2, while  Myers  went 2-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI. The dominant performance also gave  Burton a new career-high in  hits. Another player making a difference was  Alexis Shiflett, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Meadville's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-7. As for Grundy County,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meadville will venture away from home to  challenge Bevier  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. One thing working in Meadville's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  in their last seven matchups. As for Grundy County, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Gilman City at 5:45  p.m.
