Verrado entered their tilt with Desert Edge on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Scorpions 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Verrado won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Alyssa Ortiz paced Verrado's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ortiz got some help from Baylee Wakeham and her 27 assists. Taylor Thomas controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Verrado's win bumped their record up to 17-13. As for Desert Edge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
