Soccer Game Preview: Fort Walton Beach vs. Gulf Breeze

The Fort Walton Beach Vikings will head out to face off against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Walton Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Fort Walton Beach's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Crestview 7-0. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 460th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Walton Beach's offense was hitting Crestview from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Brian Chadwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Despite a strong season so far, Gulf Breeze has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Chiles. That's two games in a row now that the Dolphins have lost by just one goal.

Fort Walton Beach pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Gulf Breeze, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4-3.

Fort Walton Beach came up short against Gulf Breeze in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Fort Walton Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
