Basketball Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

Anna lost against Walnut Grove back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The matchup between the Anna Coyotes and the Walnut Grove Wildcats didn't end well, with the Anna Coyotes falling 60-46. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Wildcats are ranked 53rd).

Anna has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Walnut Grove, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.

Anna will challenge Denison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Denison's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Walnut Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Walnut Grove Wildcats challenge the Melissa Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
