Baseball Recap: Bolles Comes Up Short

Bishop Snyder hit Bolles with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 11-9. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 10-9 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

James McCranie was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Flowers, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bolles has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Bishop Snyder, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bolles will host Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Snyder, they will be playing at home against Fletcher at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 2.2, the Senators 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
