It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gibbs had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Boca Ciega Pirates as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Gladiators, who have now won four matches in a row.

Gibbs not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Boca Ciega between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-14.

Gibbs found their leader in freshman Jade Carter, who had 16 digs and six aces. Carter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Gibbs was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

Gibbs' win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Boca Ciega, they dropped their record down to 3-22 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Gibbs will head out to square off against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boca Ciega does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
