Softball Recap: Whitney Comes Up Short

If Whitney was feeling good fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Bolsa Grande last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 14-2 to the Cerritos Dons on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Whitney now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Cerritos, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Whitney will head out on the road to challenge Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cerritos, they will square off against Gahr at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Dons have won five straight at home, while the Gladiators won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
