Softball Game Preview: Madawaska Owls vs. Hodgdon Hawks

The Madawaska Owls are taking a road trip to challenge the Hodgdon Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Madawaska has given up an average of 19.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Madawaska managed to slip by Washburn the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Owls lost 17-1 to the Beavers on Wednesday. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hodgdon didn't have quite enough to beat Ashland on Wednesday and fell 6-4.

Hodgdon dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Madawaska, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Madawaska might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Hodgdon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Owls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
