Softball Recap: East Paulding Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

The third road match was the charm for East Paulding, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the South Paulding Spartans on Thursday. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Emma Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Heal was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run. Chloe Grier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

East Paulding has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for South Paulding, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, East Paulding will host Hillgrove at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Paulding, they will square off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
