Basketball Recap: East Carteret Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

The third road contest was the charm for East Carteret, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past the Epiphany Falcons with a 54-50 win on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mariners as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

East Carteret's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Myles Shelton led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine steals. With that strong performance, Shelton is now averaging an impressive 2.6 steals per game. Another player making a difference was McIntosh Luke, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
