Jace Vega turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two walks surrendered on Thursday. He didn't allow a single earned run over 7.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cheney is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-12 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Vega and Cheney will square off against University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Titans thanks in part to Vega: he went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
