There's no place like home for Hillgrove, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cherokee Warriors on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since August 9th.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (57-52) Hillgrove actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 12-25, 15-12.

Hillgrove found their leader in sophomore Layla Evans, who had 15 assists and four digs.

Hillgrove pushed their record up to 14-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cherokee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-23 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hillgrove and Cherokee will both be playing Allatoona the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Hawks will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
