Softball Recap: Fountain Valley Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Fountain Valley's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Mater Dei Monarchs on Monday. The Barons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Monarchs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Fountain Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Mater Dei's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7-1.

Fountain Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Calvary Chapel on the 26th. As for Mater Dei, they have also already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against JSerra Catholic on the 25th.
