Recap: Blair Vikings vs. Temple City Rams
The Blair Vikings entered their tilt with the Temple City Rams with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Blair strolled past Temple City with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 91-72. Given Blair's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Temple City is ranked 806th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blair found their leader in underclassman Timmy Anderson, who scored 52 points along with seven assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Blair's points. Another player making a difference was Serigne Deme, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds.
Temple City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cody Lau, who scored 16 points along with six assists. That's the first time this season that Lau scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Ngo, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Temple City were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Blair is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Temple City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Blair will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Marino at 7:00 p.m. As for Temple City, they will head out on the road to challenge South Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Pasadena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 23 matchups -- so hopefully Temple City likes a good challenge.
