Recap: New Underwood Tigers vs. Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers

The New Underwood Tigers's game back in December of 2023 was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 60-54 victory over Lead-Deadwood. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for New Underwood considering their 25-point performance the contest before.

New Underwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cash Albers, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Albers grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Fulton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

New Underwood's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lead-Deadwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Underwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oelrichs at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Lead-Deadwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Belle Fourche at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belle Fourche is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
