Baseball Recap: San Ramon Valley Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for San Ramon Valley's offense. They fell just short of the De La Salle Spartans by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ryan Gehrke was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for San Ramon Valley and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for De La Salle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

While San Ramon Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
