Baseball Recap: Lansing Catholic Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lansing Catholic couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 10-4 to the Marine City Mariners on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this contest were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.

Lansing Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Grill, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Lansing Catholic and nudges their season record down to 18-6. As for Marine City, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-10.

As of now, neither Lansing Catholic nor the Mariners have any future games scheduled.
