Preview: Carson Senators vs. Reed Raiders
Carson is 2-8 against Reed since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Carson Senators will head out on the road to square off against the Reed Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
Carson struggled with assists on Friday (Douglas had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Carson had to suffer through a rough 63-29 loss at the hands of Douglas. Carson has not had much luck with Douglas recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Carson saw an underclassman step up: Lillian Tuner scored four points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Reed, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-41 loss to Spanish Springs on Friday. While losing is never fun, Reed can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Spanish Springs is ranked 14th).
Carson has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Reed, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.
Carson couldn't quite finish off Reed in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 48-45. Can Carson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
