Volleyball Game Preview: York Dukes vs. Stevenson Patriots

The York Dukes will take on the Stevenson Patriots in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, York turned things around against Glenbard East on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: York took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Stevenson earned a 2-0 victory over Lake Forest on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Scouts: they've now won seven in a row.

Stevenson not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Lake Forest between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18.

Stevenson's win came from a few key players York will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryler Bondad, who had 19 assists and four digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in August. Zuzanna Wal was another key player, getting seven digs and two assists.

Stevenson's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for York, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

York skirted past Stevenson 2-1 in their previous matchup back in September. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wal, who had 23 digs and one assist.
