Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Bethany Community

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bethany Community walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Oxford Prep Griffins 2-1. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by just one run.

Audrey Waddell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, Peyton Weavil was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

Bethany Community's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oxford Prep, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-3.

As of now, neither Bethany Community nor the Griffins have any future games scheduled.
