Maclay is 9-1 against Taylor County since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Marauders will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Maclay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Maclay is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Florida State University High School last Wednesday. They fell just short of the Seminoles by a score of 3-2. Marauders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Seminoles since last Wednesday.

Maclay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Taylor County walked away with it. They won by a run and slipped past the Seminoles 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Taylor County's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Maclay took their win against Taylor County in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
