Recap: Warren Bears vs. St. Bonaventure Seraphs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Warren Bears, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Seraphs by a score of 24-21. Warren's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Warren lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Madden Iamaleava. Despite the final result, he rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 164 yards and a touchdown on only 11 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Ross, who picked up 139 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Koen Glover was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Bonaventure's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Matt Perez was the leader with two sacks.
Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for St. Bonaventure, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Warren does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Bonaventure will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (St. Augustine is ranked 39th, while St. Bonaventure is ranked 31st).
