Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Erath). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Abbeville Wildcats a 20-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Dominic Frederick and Tate Collins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Frederick tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Collins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Frederick has allowed since back in February. At bat, Frederick scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Collins scored a run while going 1-for-2. Erath is undefeated when Frederick posts two or more runs, but 7-9-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Seth Leger was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Landon Lemaire was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Erath hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville struck out seven times.

Erath's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Abbeville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Erath wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Eunice on the 21st. As for Abbeville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy on the 25th.
